Car Rental Agreement

Version 2026-05-05 · Last reviewed 2026-05-05

This agreement extends the general Rental Agreement with terms specific to car and SUV rentals.

1. Driver age, license, and credit card

Drivers must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver's license recognized in Mexico. Drivers under 25 may be subject to a young-driver surcharge displayed on the product page at booking. A credit card in the primary driver's name is required for the security deposit.

2. Authorized drivers

Only the Renter and additional drivers listed on the booking are authorized to operate the vehicle. Each additional driver must present a valid license at pickup.

3. Cross-border travel

Vehicles may not leave the territory of Mexico without prior written consent. Toll roads in Quintana Roo and Yucatán are permitted; long-haul interstate travel may require additional insurance.

4. Insurance and liability

Basic third-party liability insurance is included. Comprehensive damage protection is available as an add-on at booking. Without the comprehensive add-on, the Renter is liable for the deductible defined in the booking summary.

5. Fuel

Cars are supplied full and must be returned full. A refueling fee at the prevailing rate applies if the vehicle is returned with less fuel than at pickup.

6. Tolls and traffic citations

Tolls, parking violations, and traffic citations incurred during the rental period are the Renter's responsibility. Where a transponder is provided, tolls accrue to the Renter and are charged at the end of the rental.

7. Smoking and pets

Smoking is prohibited in all rental vehicles. Pets are permitted only with prior written consent and a refundable cleaning deposit.
