Tulum Bar Crawl

One host, one night, the best of Tulum after dark: from mezcal cantinas in the Pueblo to the beach-road clubs, with welcome shots and skip-the-line entry built in.

Local host all night

A guide who knows which Tulum bars are actually good that night: Pueblo cantinas to beach-road clubs.

Welcome shots included

A welcome shot or drink at each of 3–4 stops; the rest is pay-as-you-go at your pace.

Skip the line

Skip-the-line or no-cover entry at partner venues: no queuing, no cover-charge haggling.

Instant crew

A fun international group to share the night with, the easiest way to go out solo in Tulum.

Tulum has two very different nights out, and a guided bar crawl is the easiest way to get both without a rental car or a plan. It usually starts in Tulum Pueblo (the real town away from the beach), where local cantinas and mezcalerías pour small-batch Oaxacan mezcal and cheap, cold micheladas. This is where you warm up, meet the group, and get a feel for the town most beach-hotel guests never see.

From there the crawl moves out to the beach road (the Zona Hotelera), the jungle-and-neon strip of open-air clubs and cocktail bars where Tulum earned its party reputation. Your host handles the logistics that make or break a Tulum night: which bars are actually busy that evening, cover charges, and the notoriously long taxi waits between the town and the beach, so you spend the night dancing instead of standing on the side of the highway negotiating a fare.

A typical crawl includes a local guide for the whole night, a welcome shot or drink at each of three to four stops, skip-the-line or no-cover entry at partner venues, and a group of other travelers to share the night with. Solo travelers especially book these to have an instant crew. Drinks beyond the welcome round are pay-as-you-go, so you set your own pace.

We connect you with vetted local hosts running small, well-run groups rather than the chaotic mega-crawls: enough people for the party, few enough that nobody gets lost between the Pueblo and the beach.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the minimum age, and do I need ID?

The legal drinking age in Mexico is 18. Bring a physical government photo ID (passport or driver’s licence). Beach-road clubs check at the door, and some won’t accept a photo of your ID on your phone.

What’s included in the price?

A local host for the whole crawl, a welcome shot or drink at each of 3–4 venues, and skip-the-line or no-cover entry at the partner bars. Additional drinks, food and taxis between the town and the beach are pay-as-you-go and not included.

Where does the bar crawl meet?

Most Tulum crawls meet at a set bar in Tulum Pueblo (the town centre) in the early evening. You’ll get the exact meeting point and time when you book. From there the group moves together, so you only need to make the first stop.

Is it safe, and how do I get back to my hotel?

You’re with a local host the whole night and moving as a group, which is the safest way to do Tulum’s nightlife. For the trip home, use a licensed taxi or a ride booked through your hotel or the venue rather than an unmarked car, and agree the fare before you get in. The Pueblo-to-beach run is long and taxis quote high late at night.
